Domestic Student Applicants

The Newman  School accepts applications from qualified students throughout the school year. 

You may have moved recently to the Boston area and want to  enroll in a small, private school with  excellent university acceptances, an International Baccalaureate program and  a strong  community of students and teachers.

You may be looking for  something different from your current school.  

Whatever the reason for considering a change, our Admissions staff would be happy to  meet with you to see if The Newman School is  right for you.

For students applying for entry in fall 2020, priority is given to those whose applications are completed by February 1, 2020 . 

You can expect to hear a decision from us  within a  week or so of submitting a completed application.

For American students wishing to enter grades 7-12, we require the following:

  1. An application: Apply Online (Gateway)  or Ravenna Online  or  Use our Paper Application
  2. Test results: For students entering Grade 7, 8 or 9 the results of one of the  following exams: 
    SSAT  (Newman School Code:5314) 
       or 
    ISEE   (Newman School code: 220330)
  3. Transcripts: from at least the past two school years
  4. Recommendations: from a math teacher, an English teacher, and a school administrator. 

 Students who are seriously considering Newman should visit us for a day, attend classes with a current student, and meet Newman students and faculty. Please Use our Online Calendar to make an appointment to visit or tour the school.
