Athletics

Athletics are an integral part of Newman life; A building block to help foster success in all aspects of life, from managing adversity to celebrating success. Teams are comprised of individuals with wide ranges of athletic ability. "At Newman, it is the process that is important, not just the results."

Competitive Sports at Newman

Newman is a member of the Massachusetts Bay Independent League and the Girls' Independent League. We field varsity sports in Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Women's Volleyball, Co-ed Tennis, Sailing, and Cross Country. Our active Men's and Women's Crew squads train on the Charles River, the central river of Boston, and participate in events such as the Head of the Charles Regatta.

Our Fields

Students use the various athletic facilities available to the school within the City of Boston, including the athletic fields at Cassidy Field, Ebersol Field, Huntington YMCA, and the basketball and tennis courts of Boston Basketball Club and the Winchester Tennis Club. The Crew team uses the CRI boathouse and Sailing uses Community Boating on the Charles River.
