IB Pathway

Newman School- International Baccalaureate Degree

The Newman School’s IB Diploma program provides a thorough education in a broad range of subject areas. The program aims to enhance each student’s international perspective and awareness of our common humanity; to encourage a sense of social and individual responsibility; and supply each student with the tools essential for success in higher education and beyond.

Newman School students who choose to take advantage of an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program in their Junior and Senior years (ages 16-19) gain perspective and knowledge that uniquely prepares them for the world ahead.

The IB Diploma program allows students the freedom to pursue their own needs and interests within a liberal arts style framework. It is both a structured program that offers a strong general education, and a flexible program that acknowledges the particular interests of the students.

Why IB Science at Newman School

The Newman IB Diploma Program has prepared me tremendously well for college. On the basis of my IB work, I was awarded 16 credits ( 4 courses). This is allowing me to take more classes in my major, having fulfilled all Required Courses with my IB course work. Newman gives the student an edge with IB and competitive classes that has made my university experience extraordinarily rich.
