Here at Newman everyone goes above and beyond their job titles by helping out whenever they can and that is why I am grateful to have joined the Newman Family
This is my first year at the Newman School and I am the Assistant Technology Director, Assistant Business Manager, and Head of the 9-10 After School program. I joined Newman after graduating from Boston College in June 2020 with my Masters in Athletic Administration. At Boston College I was able to get an on campus job in classroom technology which is a field I have always been interested in. I've always had a passion for education and sports, which is why I went to BC. Before BC, I attended Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. At Bates I majored in European history and was a three year starter on the defensive line for their football team. Following Bates, I worked at year as an instructional aid at my alma mater, Exeter High School in New Hampshire. I was also fortunate enough to coach Football, Swimming and Track and Field there. The year at Exeter showed me that I wanted to have a career in education, sports, and technology which is why I ended at BC and then Newman. I chose Newman because of its community/family environment. Having worked at a large public school there was never a large sense of community. Here at Newman everyone goes above and beyond their job titles by helping out whenever they can and that is why I am grateful to have joined the Newman Family.

I love to teach, especially history and the humanities, because of the range of unique perspectives and creative thoughts that students bring to the classroom.
To me, Newman’s motto, Cor ad Cor Loquitur, means that fostering a community of creative, passionate, and honest individuals is one of the school’s greatest priorities. I believe that encouraging students to be genuine and thoughtful members of society who care for and respect their fellow humans naturally stems from this mission.
I love to teach, especially history and the humanities, because of the range of unique perspectives and creative thoughts that students bring to the classroom. The insightful conversations they produce when investigating and inquiring about intertwining concepts, cultures, and ideas never cease to amaze me. These unique experiences that are facilitated by a strong and trusting relationship between the members of a class, students and teachers alike, epitomize why I love to teach. The life of an educator is one of a lifelong learner whose goal is to inspire the same in others.
Outside of the world of teaching, I enjoy reading, especially about Roman history and other classical civilizations, listening to podcasts, playing golf, basketball, and games of almost any kind (from board to video). I am also a huge movie aficionado, especially when it comes to historical films, who likes to snowboard whenever possible during New England’s unpredictable winters.
A little known fact about me is that my father taught me how to drive standard at age 13 (off the roads, of course!), despite my mother’s protest.
