Technology and Resources
Faculty Staff, Students and Families
Email and messages through ManageBac will be used for all major announcements from Newman. Faculty and staff will continue to use email to communicate with families. Students may use their Newman email to reach out to teachers with questions, and teachers may use it to communicate academic instructions to the class as they have always done.
MANAGEBAC AND KOGNITY
Faculty, Students, and Families
ManageBac will continue to be the primary place for students to find assignments and expectations. Teachers may also post additional instructional materials and provide feedback. Kognity will be used by Diploma Program teachers in Individuals and Societies subjects, Math and Science.
GOOGLE DRIVE
Students and Faculty
Many teachers make use of Google Drive for collaborating on documents. However, there are a number of students who will not have legal access to Google products in their country.
ZOOM AND GOOGLE MEET
Students and Faculty
Teachers and Advisors will use Zoom or Google Meet for synchronous experiences, like a class discussion. While it can be helpful to download the application to a laptop, only access to a browser is necessary to participate.
APPS FOR LEARNING
Students and Faculty
Students familiar with subject and class specific apps should expect to continue to use the specific apps indicated by their teachers for various types of learning. Depending on the subject matter, a teacher may introduce a new learning app. Teachers will be selective about choosing a new app and provide adequate time for students to learn to use it
LIBRARY RESOURCES
Students
Students will have off-campus access to library resources and databases as usual.
