Amid a time when it’s essential to be physically distant in schools, connecting “cor ad cor” is more important this year than ever before. With faces half hidden from 6 feet away, students must work extra hard to get to know each other and build relationships.
Newman has been intentionally planning some time for students to be outside of the classroom with fellow students, away from the rigors of academics. Our 9th and 10th graders spent some time getting to know classmates and participating in high-energy activities at Ebersol Field.
There was conversation, laughter and a sense of community. Students loved the experience and the break from routine. We look forward to holding these events with all grades to build and celebrate our community throughout the year.
