Newman students wrote thoughtful notes for blankets to be distributed to local shelters. Blankets of Hope is an educational nonprofit helping students practice empathy and kindness by donating blankets - each paired with an inspirational handwritten note - to those experiencing homelessness.
Our community came together with the organization of our Cardinal Connects Club to offer words of encouragement to residents of local homeless shelters. The organizations that received the blankets included:
Woods-Mullen shelter for women, Boston
Bridge House, Lynn
Lifebridge, Salem
Bridge House, Lynn
Pine Street Inn, Boston
