Commencement 2021


The Newman School gathered on the lawn of the historic Loring Greenough House on Thursday, May 27th for the Commencement Ceremony.  It was the first time in Newman's history that the commencement exercises were held outdoors.  The graduating members of the Class of 2021 heard from the Class Speaker, Emma Clark and Valedictorian, Ashley Djousse as well as from Head of School, Michael J. Schafer and guest speakers, retired Head of School, Harry Lynch and retired Assistant Head of School, Patty Lynch.  Other special guests attending the event included David MacLaughlin, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees as well as retired English teacher, Mary Donovan. In all 44 students received a Newman diploma.
