Head of School J. Harry Lynch to Retire

After thirty three years as the Head of School, J. Harry Lynch will retire June 30, 2020.  Following in his father's footsteps, J. Harry Lynch began serving as Headmaster in 1985.  Since then, he has worked to develop its curriculum in the liberal arts tradition embraced by John Henry Newman, using the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program as the foundation for learning.

Dr. David MacLaughlin, Chair of the Newman Board of Trustees in his letter to The Newman School community noted:

"Since 1985 Harry has been the heart and soul of the Newman School. His singular motivation has been to do what is best for our students. Harry has created an enviable learning environment centered about our first rate faculty and staff and an intellectually challenging International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum."
