After successful completion of all the requirements for The Newman School diploma, students who have been enrolled at Newman for a minimum of two years will earn the following distinctions at commencement exercises: “Cum Laude” status for a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher ; “Magna Cum Laude” status for a G.P.A. of 3.3 or higher, and “Summa Cum Laude” status for a G.P.A. of 3.7 or higher. Students’ diplomas will reflect the GPA calculated at the end of the Fall Semester for graduation honors.
In addition, color cords are earned by students and worn at graduation in recognition of their long-term commitment to, and participation in, specific enrichment activities, athletics, and community service.
