Mid-semester and Semester Exams are scheduled for all classes at The Newman School (consult the academic calendar for exact dates). It is up to each teacher to determine the weight of each assessment including quizzes, tests, papers, projects, mid- semester and semester exams and include that information in their syllabi. In-class assignments, homework, attendance, conduct, effort, class participation, etc., will make up the balance of the grade.
Students who miss a mid-semester or semester exam will receive an Incomplete grade for that course until the exam is made up. (Please refer to the school’s policy re: Incompletes) Students with an excused absence may make up the exam within 3 days of the original date it was scheduled. Any exam not made up within that time will be calculated into the grade as a zero.
