Calculating Your G.P.A

The following is the formula used to determine G.P.A. and example of how it is applied:

Course        Grade     Grade Point Value     Credits Attempted = Quality Points

English           A-       3.67                     x              1              =     3.67
Algebra II       B-       2.67                     x              1              =     2.67
Biology           B+      3.33                     x              1              =     3.33
History           F        0                          x              1              =     0

                                                                        4                    9.67

Divide the Total Quality Points (9.67) by the Total Credits Attempted (4) to arrive at the G.P.A.:

9.67 ÷ 4 = 2.4 G.P.A.

When a student withdraws from a course before midterm, no grade or credit will appear on the transcript or be calculated into the G.P.A. If a student withdraws from a course after midterm, a WF (withdraw/failing) will appear on the transcript and a zero will be calculated into the G.P.A. Students are reminded that they are required to maintain at least 2 ½ credits each semester; and that they may not enter a new course after the first two weeks of the semester. All course withdrawals must be approved first by parents and school administration.
