The Newman School's literary publication is called Slant of Light after a poem by Emily Dickinson. Students meet after school three times a week to put out a bi-weekly literary journal for general distribution to the school. Submissions are taking from all students in the form of poetry, fiction, non-fiction, photography, drawings and paintings.
The students in the activity assign editorial positions to simulate actual magazine publisher roles. The Newman School feels this is a great glimpse for students into a possible career as a staff editor at a magazine.
