Latin

Latin I introduces students to the culture of Ancient Rome through a study of the language, culture and literature of this civilization whose influence on the world in which we live is profound. Students will learn the declensions of nouns and adjectives, the active voice of verbs in all four conjugations and the verb “to be” and its compounds. Skills will be reinforced by translating English to Latin and Latin to English.  (single period/year)

Latin II will continue to focus on grammar and vocabulary through work on translations; and students will submit papers and projects about the customs and history of Ancient Rome that they research.  (single period/year)
