IB Visual Art Year 2
Post-assessment assignment
- IW due Wednesday, April 18th: In your IW, develop your final project. Your final project will be a diptych, or a related pair of projects. To prepare for this project in your IW, write about your strengths and areas for growth over the past two years. Keeping these in mind, find two artists to research from two different cultures (times/places). One artist should reinforce your strengths and/or give you ideas to develop these more. The other artist should give you ideas about improving your areas for growth. After researching, do some technique practice based on your ideas. Then brainstorm/develop ideas for your project. We will visit the ICA on April 13th; please sketch and make notes in your IW at the ICA. If relevant, make connections to your project ideas and/or other projects or artists you have studied.
To reiterate, make sure you have the following in your IW:
o A discussion of your strengths and areas for growth over the past two years with specific examples
o Research on an artist related to one or more of your strengths
o An analysis of one of the artist’s works with an explanation of how it relates to your strength
o Research on an artist related to one or more of your areas for growth
o An analysis of one of the artist’s works with an explanation of how it relates to your area for growth
o Technique practice in your strength and area for growth
o Development and explanations of your project ideas
o ICA work
- Studio due Thursday, April 26th: Two related projects based on your strengths and areas for growth over the past two years.
